Hello All,

I am teaching Algebra this semester and need some help with class grades.

I plan on giving 18 quizzes and let the students drop 3 ...so 15 quizzes will count at 2% each and account for 30% of their grade.

Next I came up with a way to give bonus in-class grade. I can not predict how many in class bonuses there will be (perhaps 30) but they are difficult to earn. So if the student receives a bonus point it is counted as 100% on a quiz.

Currently I am in spreadsheet and would like to figure out how to calculate their total score so far.
Formula I was using before the bonus was
=((.02*D2)+(.02*E2)+ (.02*F2))/(.06)
I now have G and H columns with bonus scores. Perhaps there is more sophisticated way to estimate the current total quiz grade?

I know how to pick top 15 scores at end of semester and calculate the final score but I can't wrap my head around the running total...any help is appreciated.
