Hi All,

I tried searching but could not find an answer to this, Does anyone have any thoughts?

I have a .xlsm workbook that has a few modules in it with various code.
It is a file that other people use but I maintain and update.

I have today gone into the file to amend a macro following a request but it is not showing me the code.
The macro's still run so I know that the code is still in the file.

I have tried view code, Double clicking on the module, Right click view code.
When I double click the VBA project title nothing happens either which is strange (Normally you get a box appear where you can lock the project).

Hopefully someone has a way that I can get the code back as there is quite a lot of it.

Thanks Dean

Excel Facts

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
Did someone lock the code, or make it very hidden?

Did someone lock the code, or make it very hidden?
I can see the modules in the VBA screen so its not locked and I have not hidden them.
What is odd is that it wont open the VBA properties box.
The users of the file do not have the best excel knowledge so i doubt that they would be able to make it not visible.

Ive never had this in years of using VBA.

Did you try re-booting your computer and try again, in case something got messed up with Excel?

If that does not fix it, it is possible that your file may have become corrupted.

Ok, Tried a restart same issue.
Tried cascade but same issue. I can see other code windows from other files just this file.
I have also tried to export the modules but it will not let me do that either.

Its like there is a lock on them.

Any idea's what could be causing the locking?

Just curious, what happens if when you are in the spreadsheet, you hit alt+F8.
Can you see the macros ?
If Yes then what happens if you select a macro and hit edit ?

Hi,

I get the macro window but no macro's listed.
Macro's in the file are run using buttons and are working fine with no issues.

Hi That also did not work.
I have asked to see if we can get the file restored from the backup servers.
Can then bring across any data that has changed.

Thanks for your help.
