Hi All,

I tried searching but could not find an answer to this, Does anyone have any thoughts?

I have a .xlsm workbook that has a few modules in it with various code.
It is a file that other people use but I maintain and update.

I have today gone into the file to amend a macro following a request but it is not showing me the code.
The macro's still run so I know that the code is still in the file.

I have tried view code, Double clicking on the module, Right click view code.
When I double click the VBA project title nothing happens either which is strange (Normally you get a box appear where you can lock the project).

Hopefully someone has a way that I can get the code back as there is quite a lot of it.

Thanks Dean

Hi That also did not work.
I have asked to see if we can get the file restored from the backup servers.
Can then bring across any data that has changed.

Thanks for your help.
Excel does not track changes, like a database does.
But shouldn't you just be able to copy the data from the existing file over top of the data in the restored backup with a simple Copy/Paste for each sheet?

Excel Facts

Easy bullets in Excel
If you have a numeric keypad, press Alt+7 on numeric keypad to type a bullet in Excel.
i also just ran into this issue with the exact same problems:
-can see list of modules in vba window but clicking them does not show code
-menubar>view>code(F7) did nothing
-cascade did nothing
-restarting did nothing
-alt F8 does not list any macros
-debug>compile did nothing
-trust center already set to enable macros

in addition i tried to export the modules which then did not create a .bas file in the save location. trying to import or insert a module causes excel to stop responding

i saw on another forum
VBA Excel: Module visible in the project explorer, but not the code window.

they suggested to save as under another name. excel was then unable to save because it said the file was damaged. it then attempted to repair the file but then said the file was too damaged to repair

repair1.jpg

so most likely the file was corrupted somehow
