I need to loop through column one and insert a page break before every occurrence of the string "New Record" as the cell.value.

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
Hi,

See if this does what you want. I used Column A as the column which contains "New Record", and assumed that Row 1 was a Header Row.

Code:
Sub InsertBreak()

    Dim lRow As Long, i As Long
    lRow = Cells(Rows.Count, "A").End(xlUp).Row
    For i = 2 To lRow
        If Cells(i, 1).Value = "New Record" Then ActiveSheet.HPageBreaks.Add before:=Range("A" & i)
    Next

End Sub
