VLOOKUP wanting to include returning blank cell for blank

I've looked through numerous posts, but can't find the exact answer I need for my VLOOKUP formula forgive me if I'm missing it somewhere.

I have included a blank cell in my lookup range and want it to be considered as a valid option. In other words, if a blank cell is found I want a blank cell returned instead of an error code.

Here's what I have: =VLOOKUP(F9,$AA$7:$AB$24,2)
Cell AA24 and cell AB24 are both blank, hoping that if F9 is found to be blank it will return a blank cell rather than an error code. It's not working though. I tried adding an IF statement as well, but not having any luck.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)
You are a genius! Thank you from myself plus the hundreds of homeschool families who will benefit from the transcript worksheet I am fixing! :)
