index/match simple question

i mean, in sheet1 i have this:

in sheet2:

in sheet3:

my question is:

how can i use index/match across multiple sheets (even when new sheet is created, possible?) at sheet1 A1 (i have thousand lines in B column in reality)?

You should try to post your samples in an Excel (or Google Sheets) readable form, not als images or pictures.

Two questions:

1. Do you really 2 different worbooks? That is, is it not possible for you to move the summary sheet from summary example to data example?

2. Can andy for example appear in more than one debt sheet?

1. i do, in reality 1 workbook is from other department, 1 is our department, i want to import the data from other's so i dont have to do it manually, yea im lazy please dont blame :">

about problem 2, can it be solved by checking "andy" with an extra dated added column?

just my idea, dont know how to tho XD

Put all of the data of debt1, debt2, and debt3 in a single sheet called debt in the "data" workbook. This would allow to do the processing in a summary sheet in a different workbook.

im sorry in fact i cant add a new "debt" sheet in that "data" workbook because its not mine

but could i add new "debt" sheet in my own "summary" workbook then i pull all the data from "data" work book to it?

p/s: i dont also know how to "pull data" either, you meant like a formula for it or normally copy/paste (please dont be copy/paste because this way the data wont be up-to-date)?

I’m not totally familiar with the ‘Index/Match’ commands, in fact I’m a relative newcomer to Excel, so what I’m about to suggest may not be possible at all. I was wondering instead of you specifying a sheet name in your formula, would it be possible to name the range of data. Then in the formula, instead of referring to a specific sheet, refer to that range name. I would think that doing this, it wouldn’t matter how many sheets were added, the range name and therefor the data location, would stay the same, but as I said above, I’m new to Excel.

If this won’t work, please let me know. I’m trying to learn Excel.
