Hiya

Could anyone make any sense of this for me?

In cell A12 (which is formatted to return a percentage total with no decimals) I've got the formula:

=$F$12/$H$12

where F12=2 & H12 = 79

This returns a total of 3% - which is accurate enough for my purposes.

But when I preface that formula in A12 with the text I also want in the cell:

="Received by Deadline: "& $F$12/$H$12

It produces the following:
Received by Deadline: 0.025974025974026
<colgroup><col width="156" style="width: 117pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 5705;"> <tbody> </tbody>

I cant find a way to change this to the simple percentage of 3% that it produces when there is no text in the cell. Where am I going wrong with this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You have to explicitly cast the value as text:

="
Received by Deadline: "&text($F$12/$H$12;"0%")

Or if you want more decimals:
="Received by Deadline: "&text($F$12/$H$12;"0.00%")

Cheers!
