Good Morning,

I am attempting to count the word GREEN, (i learned my lesson on colors a while back)

Seems a simple thing, guna feel dumb when this one comes back. Below are two of many attemps. (A5 is where the word GREEN is.

=COUNTIF((A$10:$A$72, $B$11:$B$57), "GREEN")

=COUNTIF((A$10:$A$72, $B$11:$B$57), A5)

Thank you.

Why can't spreadsheets drive cars? They crash too often!
If you have to distinctly different ranges, then use a COUNTIF on each one and add them:
Code:
[COLOR=#333333]=COUNTIF(A$10:$A$72,"GREEN") + C[/COLOR][COLOR=#333333]OUNTIF([/COLOR][COLOR=#333333]$B$11:$B$57[/COLOR][COLOR=#333333],"GREEN") [/COLOR]
