excel charts

I’m using Office XP + cannot figure out how to customize an Excel pie chart. Can you offer assistance?

Dilemma: How to group wedges of an exploded pie chart into common wedges. For example, there are eight sections of a pie that are to be grouped into 3 separate and distinct wedges.

Any suggestions on the above?

Thanks for your feedback.

I believe that your describing a Pie-of-Pie chart.
Care to provide some sample data and I'll give it
a try.

Example:

G+A Expenses:
- Personnel 12000
- Rent 30000
- Other 5000

Sales + Marketing
- Promotions 25000
- Conferences 50000

Cost of Goods Sold
- Royalties 35000
- Support 8000

Total Costs 165000

Not a Pie-of-Pie, rather I would like to reorganize the pie into 3 segmented wedges. Each segment will be made up of smaller wedges that are grouped by some common thread.

Example:

G+A Expenses:
- Personnel 12000
- Rent 30000
- Other 5000

Sales + Marketing
- Promotions 25000
- Conferences 50000

Cost of Goods Sold
- Royalties 35000
- Support 8000

Total Costs 165000

Aaron, any thoughts?

I'm afraid that you may need to find a more
capable graphing package. Aaron what do you
think?

Re: Suggestions for a more robust graphing package?

Could you recommend such a package?

I'm afraid that you may need to find a more

For my purposes Excel's graphing is...

...sufficient. So I haven't really looked around
for alternatives. Could you recommend such a package?
