Aligning Option Buttons

Posted by Dexter on September 21, 2001 3:37 AM

I have a dialogue sheet set up with a group box with a gazillion option buttons in it. Does Excel have a quickie method for aligning these buttons?

Appreciate tips from anyone.

Assuming you don't really want all the OBs aligned in one line, try this:

- select an OB at the top of the form
- hold Shift and select the OB that would be at the lower end of an approx
straight line down the form
- this should result in all the OBs in the vertical line being selected
- from Main menu select Format/Align/Lefts

All the OBs in the vertical line should now be aligned - repeat across the form.

Any help?

I gave it a try but the format option on main menu has no 'align' selection. I also tried with the Format Control selection with no luck either.
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated

One thought, if you go into the Visual Basic Editor, select your user form in Design View, click on any of the buttons, then click Edit > Select All, then click on Format > Align.

Any help?

Make sure the Drawing toolbar is shown.

Select the objects you want to align.

On the left side of the Drawing toolbar is a pull-down named "Draw." Select the submenu "Align or Distribute" from it then Align Left, Align Top or whatever.

"Nudge" (also on the "Draw" pull-down) comes in handy for moving objects in small increments.

I customized the Drawing toolbar to add the Align & Nudge buttons so they are more accessible.

Jay,
Thanks for the tip. I was hoping for an easy answer.
