data sorting in excel

I cannot get to sort some data that I got from an access database. They never get sorted either ascending or decending. Can anyone help me please ?

Possibly it is formatted as text. You may need to insert a new column/row and create a formula that is =value(your data) then do a paste special values and delete the old data. A little cumbersome, but it should work.

Watch for blank rows in the data table. Hitting the sort icon will sort only contiguous data.

You can highlight what you know to be the entire data table and use the /Data/Sort and those blanks will move to the top or bottom.
