grouping problems

Posted by James Elliott on December 11, 2001 6:36 AM

Hello everyone! I am having some trouble grouping in excel. Basically I have a list of departments and then a sublist of departments (simple level one and two). When I group the subdepartments and then click the minus sign to hide the details, the grouping is off by one row (the plus sign shows up next to the row below where I want it to). If you have any suggestions or would like me to email you the document to take a look at, please let me know. My email is: jamesmelliott@yahoo.com

Thanks for your help!

James

Go to:

Data -> Grouping and outline -> Settings

and uncheck "Summary rows below detail"
