Listing down a column

How am I able to get a number/string and list each one of them down a column?

I don't understand, can you give an example?

Almost sounds like a trick question!!

I just want to print out a list of file names that I have gathered from a procedure and show them listed in one of the columns in the spreadsheet!

Ok, that's a little more information. I'm assuming that these file names are separated by a space, tab, column, or something. One way you could do it is: you can paste the string on to a single cell (maybe in a separate worksheet), then use Data -> Text to Columns to separate the names in to individual cells along a row, then Copy the range of cells and Paste Special -> Transpose on to the column that you want it to appear.
