"pick from list"

If you right click on a cell in Excel (v 2000), one drop down choice is Pick from List. How can you control what is in the list? I would like to make it a specific list of choices. I haven't been able to find any documentation on it.

The "Pick From List" choices are determined by what entries are made in contiguous cells above the next active cell.

To control the list of options, utilize Data Validation, by clicking on Data > Validation > choose the Settings tab, select "List" in the Allow field, and then in the Source field type in your allowable options separated by a comma, or enter the absolute range (preceeded by an equal sign) where you have listed your options elsewhere on the worksheet. Click the Input Message and Error Alert tabs to customize your directions and error messages for the user.
