Text To Speech

Hi,

Not really an Excel problem but any help or a suggestion on a better place to post would be appreciated.

I am trying to make Word say each letter as it is pressed (teaching young pupils letter sounds & keyboard skills)

I have followed instructions about inserting an Excel Application object into Word from http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q287/1/20.asp but I am having problems making this work on each key press. Highlighting text and running the macro works fine.

Thanks for any help
Aj

There's no easy way to capture keystrokes in a Word document. How about designing a userform with a large textbox and the using the textbox's Change event to fire the speech code?

Regards,
Daniel.

You can cross Ecel file data into Word with ease as is so to speak keeps most formatting, But reading SS are some what differen to a Word doc. Not i know of VB utilitys that will read back text or numbers on the WWW try www.download.com (thats a cnet site) and tucow.com they are poplua in UK but you vcan access over www from any location.

To use install and highlight the text you want and hit the play button = speach.

Sorry really can recall its name.

But careful reading back SS is not so easy
