Validation data

Hi,
I am trying to make validation of the cell (drop down list in the cell). It works if with the validation data is in the same sheet. Is it possible to have validation data in other sheet or other workbook.

Not sure about another workbook, but you can have the data on a seperate sheet if you define a name for the data list (Insert-Name-Define) and then put =YourName (eg if you called the list Validation_Data then put =Validation_Data) in the Source box of the validation form.

You can reference another book via named ranges
to be used in Data validation BUT the workbook
MUST be open.
Format for Validation list is;
='[Your File.xls]your Sheet Name'!your Range
