Changing All Caps to Upper and Lower

I need help changing a spreadsheet containing all caps text to upper and lower case. Does anyone know the best formula? I know about using the "Proper" function, but I keep getting circular errors and other problems.

Take a look at the Text menu of ASAP Utilities'
freeware add-in at www.asap-utilities.com.

I guess you mean something like

UPPER --> Upper

If so, use

=LEFT(A1)&LOWER(MID(A1,2,LEN(A1)))

ASAP Utilities would be just fine. However, why do you have problems with PROPER?

=PROPER(A1), entered in B1 should work.
