formating userform textbox value to numeric

I am working on an investment research data base and use a userform to enter data into the table. My problem is that the numeric information gathered goes to the data base as text and I cannot seem to figure out how to get it to stay numeric. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Have you checked the cell formatting on the destination cell(s)? They could be formatted as 'text' instead of 'general' or 'number'.
