Stop user from selecting a cell

I am creating a survey in Excel and want to have it work like a Word form (i.e. only the controls or unprotected cells are enabled). Can I do this in Excel? I have looked briefly at Userform but that seems more involved then what I want to do.

thanks

Under Format|Cells choose the Protection tab and set the value of the cells you dont want to be selected to to "Locked" Once you have the sheet the way you want it then under Tools|Protection protect the sheet and only the unlocked cells will be available for data entry.

Hi Rick - I know that I can protect the cells from changes or data entry, but the user can still move to those cells. I am looking to prevent the actual movement to the cell, not the changing of the information.

Thanks,
Val
