Conditional formatting still not working

Posted by Hemant on September 11, 2001 2:26 AM

I have tried to use the (=$N$8= "Yes") formula but still nothing.

The rows are not changing colour at all it just seems to sit there. I have tested the formula by changing the hours in the booked cells but it still does not work even when the the cell (N8) reads "Yes" it still does not change the colour of the whole row. i want to change colour (N1 - N8). N8 is like the deciding cell if it is "NO" then it should not change colour but if it is "YES" then cells N1,N2,N3,N4,N5,N6,N7,N8 should all change colour. Does anybody have any suggestions. I am walking in the dark without a candle.

Thanks

Hemant,

You cahnged the specs a bit, but the procedure to do what you want remains the same.

Select N1:N8.
Activate Format|Conditional Formatting.
Select "Formula Is" for Condition 1 in the Conditional Formatting window.
Type in the formula box:

=$N$8="Yes"

Activate the Format button.
Select a color on the Patterns tab.
Click OK.

A workbook is underway to you.
