Drop down list

Is there a way to have an item in a drop down list appear automatically just by entering the first letter of the word?

Only if there is no break between the list and the cell. You could hide this list an say a1 to a20

Thanks Andy Gee. There is no way to have that happen if the list is in a different area or on a different worksheet?
