Freezing panes

Hi there...
I would like to know how to adjust the freeze panes function to only freeze the columns that I specifically want...
Can you help me??

To freeze rows, select the row below where you want the split to appear.
To freeze columns, select the column to the right of where you want the split to appear.
From the Window menu, select Freeze Panes

Just wanted to add: To freeze both columns and rows, select the cell below the row and to the right of the column that you want to freeze.
