Importing multiple text files into Excel2000

Hi, I have been tasked with providing an interface (a form?) a user will be presented with when they start up an Excel2000 file that will display a text box containing the path name (default) where a group of text files are situated, also a button (Import) that when pressed will import each of these files 1 by 1 into the Excel workbook(sheet?) - by now you can tell I am a complete novice (how did I get this task?) with Excel!! HELP!! Has anyone done anything similar?

I"d appreciate even knowing whether I should be using VB or VBA or a Macro.

Have a look at

The code was written for Excel97, and I don't have Excel2000, so I don't know if it will work in Excel2000 (I assume it will). If you need any explanation let me know.
