Making Text Visible But Non-printing

Posted by Greg Alonzo on November 16, 2001 8:07 AM

I am creating a series of reports, and I would like
to include some text on the report that would be
visible when viewed "online" but doesn't print. (For
example, a cell that says "Click here to print" would
be visible when viewing the worksheet, but wouldn't
print.) Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Try Comments

One way is to insert a comment (From the "Insert" menu near the top of the screen) and leave it showing (you can format or edit the comment and toggle between showing it or hiding it by right clicking on the cell containing the comment). I don't believe the coment will print.
Hope this helps.

You can also use a textbox object (Drawing Toolbar) and deselect object in tne Print what dialog under print options

addendum to Comments response

as one person already suggested, you can use the Comments feature to do what you're asking for. If, however, you are interested in your comments showing up on the print-outs, you can change the setting within Page Setup-Sheet-Print Comments. good luck.
