Putting minus time in the Timesheet

Posted by khim on January 21, 2002 1:08 AM

I am trying to put a minus time in the timesheet that I created but it wouldn't allow me to do so. It works alright with calculation but not when I type it in.

Please help!!!!

I don't actually think you can enter a negative directly into a worksheet (I had a similar problem a while back). If you're not using the time in a calculation then you could format the cell as -[hh]:mm. Sorry.

Negative times are permissible if you use the
1904 date system. The date system is set on
the Calculation tab of the Tools | Options...
menu command.

Yes, you can display negative time resulting from a calculation without resorting to a load of formulas, but you can't actually enter a negative time directly into a cell (as far as I know anyway).

Ignore my previous post(s) (Doh!)

Sorry, yes, use the 1904 date system and enter your time as =-"hh:mm" (eg -"03:00"). Glad you asked that question, I've been trying to find a way to do that for ages :).
