Speadsheet to big when I add photos - how to make smaller????

Hello all,
I have made a program in excel with a front page with a menu etc, linked to other pages, and on the main menu page when i insert the photos (which are in total about 100K) and then I save it adds about 1 meg to my file... Does anybody know if there is a way to make the file smaller whilst still incuding the photos? I send the file over e-mail thus size is important. I have tried winzipping which doesnt reduce the size a lot. Is there any way to make these photos save as a much lesser size?
Thankyou in anticipation :)

Steve

Why not keep those separate with some link (even a hyperlink) in Excel app of yours referring to them?

I'd create an app directory, an photo subdirectory within the app directory, and compress the whole the app dir with WinRar in self-executable form then send over with appropriate instructions.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Aladain,

Great idea - except that I actually want to keep the photos in the spreadsheet showing if possible. They are actually part of the menu - as in a photo collage type thing. So if I put links it will just show a link and not the photo. Do you know if it is possible to reduce the photo's size at all?

Thanks a lot for replying :)

Cheers
Steve

TRY TO FIND A WAY THAT SELECTING ACTIVATES THE HYPERLINK.

Do you know if it is possible to reduce the photo's size at all?

CONVERT THEM TO GIF OR JPEG WITH e.g., ADOBE PHOTODELUXE.

AND USE WINRAR INSTEAD OF WINZIP TO PACK.
