weird problem with opening an excel file

I'm usnig Excel 97 in W95 on a network. I've been creating a spreadsheet the last few weeks, recently however, when I open the file, the spreadsheet opens in a small window, but there is no way to maximize (or minimize)the window! The three icons (maximize, minimize and close) in the upper right corner of the window are gone. I can't seem to drag the window open either.

Any suggestions?

I just had the same thing from an spreadsheet stuffed full of macros. It wasn' until I unprotected it that it turned into a normal spreadhseet. The macros were driving a userform and I wondered if somehow through vigerous clicking of the userform the user had confused the memory. Really odd never seen it before.
