Can excel do this?

At work we have a scada prog. For those that don't know what this is it's a program that allows you to monitor and control various thing around the plant.
I would like to know if excel can retrieve various information from the scada software and put it in a spreadsheet to be average/max/min, etc?
Also, on a few of the readings from the scada software, I need excel to record them every fifteen minutes. Is that possible?
Thanks for any info.

It depends on the output of the the scada software and if it accets calls from an outside program. Would be best to contact the scada company and ask them for details.

If your SCADA is truly A SCADA, then it will allow you aquire the data in some format e.g. report file or some sort of text file. from there it can be imported in to your spread sheet. I have done this with our SCADA system, and the results are excellent. min/max/avg as well as charts. So in our case, the "data Aquired" really comes to life after we get into Excel. If your SCADA is set up to poll every fifteen minutes, then it should dump to a report file.
