convert 1-2-3 files

Hi:
I have 100's of Lotus 1-2-3 files that I'd like to convert to excel so I can use excel exclusively. Instead of manually opening each 1-2-3 file and saving it in excel format, can you suggest an easier method? The MS Support page has a suggested macro but it looks a little cumbersome. Any ideas?

Many thanks.

www.dataviz.com
has software for converting files from one type to another. Conversions Plus (PC) or MacLink Plus (Mac) allow batch conversions; just drop a bunch of 123 files on the progam, set the options to convert to Excel and in few minutes your files are all converted. Bingo, you now have Excel files. List price is about $70; haven't checked street prices. With hundreds of files, it is probably worth the bucks.

if you're using Office 2000 you can try:

if you're using Office 97, there should be a utility on the installation disk (Fileconv.xla), or it may already be in Tools>Add-ins.
