Cannot save macro in Personal Macro Workbook in the XLStart folder

I cannot save a macro in the "Personal Macro Workbook" because I don't have access to the H drive where the XLStart folder is located. When I record a macro in the "Personal Macro Workbook" and close Excel, I get an error message telling me Excel can't access the file "H\APPs32\...\XlStart". Is there a way to have Excel store macros in the Personal Macro Workbook" in the C drive? I have no problem when saving a macro in "This Workbook" but I need macros available for several different Excel files.

Try creating a folder called 'XLSTART' in the 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office' Folder on your C: Then put a sheet in that Folder.

Create a folder on your C:drive called Altxlstart (you can put it in a sub directory if you want). Now, start Excel and choose Tools-Options. On the General Tab, enter the path to this folder in the Alternate Startup Folder field. Then store your personal.xls here in this altxlstart folder. don't forget to hide your personal.xls workbook before saving.
