Macro to Get Out of Edit Mode

Posted by Paul on December 18, 2001 6:12 AM

Is there any way around the problem of a user forgeting to come out of edit mode (he does not hit the "enter" key when inputing data).

He then trys to push a macro button, and of course nothing happens, until he remembers first to either click on another cell or hit enter to come our of edit mode.

I've seen users encounter this problem many times.

Does anyone have a solution?

I have had a quick look at this. It appears that the quickest (perhaps only) solution is to write it on a post-it note:

"If macro button does not respond, hit the "ENTER" key and try again, ya muppet!!"

I can't find any way to do this in a macro since they don't respond in the "edit" mode, as far as I've seen.

PS, don't feel bad for the users if they can't get the basics. :)
