Macro warning message won't go away

Posted by Thomas P. on October 12, 2001 9:28 AM

We have an Excel spreadsheet that originally had a number of macros in it. Those macros have all been deleted, but we still get the "macro warning message" everytime you open the spreadsheet. How do we let the file know there are no more macros and get rid if that message?

Delete the Module that the macro was in

Doesn't sound like everything got deleted. Hit Alt-F11 to go to the Visual Basic Editor and make sure that there is nothing left in the "Module" window(s).

I also believe that you can disable the message completely by going to Tools, Options. Under the General tab remove the check for Macro Virus Protection. Of course that means that you will have less security for virus protection.
