Hi all.
Could somebody please shed some light on the reason office engineers made it available for users to choose to still edit cells after marking a workbook final?? What's the point of that?? And how do I prevent them from doing it? Thanks in advance

Excel Facts

Pivot Table Drill Down
Double-click any number in a pivot table to create a new report showing all detail rows that make up that number
I don't have Excel 2010, but I know if earlier versions there are ways to prevent users from editing your workbook.

1. Lock your cell and protect your worksheets (see: http://www.officearticles.com/excel/cell_locking_in_microsoft_excel.htm)

2. Alternatively, you could set your workbook to be a read-only document, though it is quite easy to change it (so not the most secure way of doing it).

Option 1 is probably your best bet, as you can password protect the locks.

Sorry, I don't personally know your level of Excel expertise.

Just trying to answer the question you asked about how to prevent users from editing your workbook...
