Is there a way to find out the date and time an excel file has been opened within the file?

Excel Facts

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
I don't think so, but there sure might be in newer versions than what I'm using here.
However, you can write some code into the Workbook_Open event that will log the date & time somewhere within the workbook every time the file gets opened.
This will of course require the macro setting to be enabled though.

Does that help any?
