Question!>

How can I convert / insert text into a cell to have it changed into a date?

I downloaded a calender from a website in excel format. bu the dates are all
"YYYYMMDD" eg. 20100114

How can I either insert an dash " - " inbetween them all or convert them into a date?

Would really be helpfull. I got 600+ rows with events on this calander.

Thnaks in advance!

P.s its currently in the cell with the cell format as "General"

OK your solution works some how.. but I think I'm doing it wrong..
Or its because the text in the cell doesn't have a delimiter (my cell has no dashes in it)

the contents of my cells are just plain
" 20090928 "
in such a format that its >> YYYYMMDD

I'm not exactly sure HOW it works either, I just know it does.

I think it's like, people haveing dates in that format are pretty common, so MS put in some programming to recoginize it and convert it.
