Hello,

I have columns specifically designed for the user to type people's names. I'd like to know if it is possible to copy these names from a Word document, and then paste them into these cells. For design reasons, the cells are merged together to create a larger cell.

I'm getting an error message in Excel, even on short names. For
example, if I copy the name, Smith, John from my Word document, and I try pasting this name into the cell in Excel, I get this message; 'The data
you're pasting isn't the same size as your selection. Do you want to paste anyway?' - I select "OK", and then get this error message; 'We can't do that to a merged cell.' Anything I could do to get this to work for me?
