Hi all!
I would like to count of the names "fred" column B but then i want to count all blanks in columns LMNOPQ that fred has left blank.
These columns are both numbers and text.
This what I have so far.
COUNTIFS(A:A,"FRED",L:Q," ").

Thanks in advance ??

Excel Facts

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
They are two different counts. Are there multiple freds in the column?

Assuming your data starts in row 2, try this formula in row 2 of the column you want number of blank cells and copy it down: =IF(B2="fred",COUNTIF(L2:Q2,""),"")
This formula will give you the count of the name "fred": =COUNTIF(B:B,"fred")
