Counting dimensions of a dynamic array

I am working with dynamic arrays that may be assigned from a variety of sources (variable ranges, data strings, or other arrays) and need a simple way/function to count how many dimensions an array has at any moment, so that I can use other functions to manipulate the array in the correct manner, depending on the number of dimensions.

Is there a simple function/formula to count the current number of dimensions in a dynamic array, without having to keep track of this with an independent variable?

Again, any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Best regards,
Kelvin

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
It's funny, as a purist I spend so much time trying to write perfectly efficient and reliable code without any errors, and now I find that the only way to do this simple task is to create an intentional error! ;)
