I want to Sum values from Column A based on a specific Value in Column B. In the sample below I would want the total for each name based on values in Column A. For Example, John would = 15 total, Ryan = 7, etc.

#
12John
5Ryan
7Mike
3John
2Ryan
5Mike

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.

Yeah, it would pick up all blanks after the data too though.

So you might want something like = SUMIF(B2:B100,"",A1:A100) or whichever row the data starts and stops at.
