So I've been looking around and haven't quite found the formula that I am looking for. What I would like to learn how to do is:take a cell and look for that number on another sheet and post the unit price and product description accordingly on the first sheet.

Excel Facts

Difference between two dates
Secret function! Use =DATEDIF(A2,B2,"Y")&" years"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"YM")&" months"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"MD")&" days"
Looks like you would be looking for a Vlookup

=Vlookup(Lookup Cell, Range to lookup, Column Identifier,False)

The Range to lookup, the first column needs to be the column that will have your number in it, then it counts to the right for the colum identifier

Thanks, so far I have =VLOOKUP(C8,'by part number'!C2:C768, Column Identifier,FALSE). C8 being the cell I need to find on the other sheet, 'by part number'!C2:C768 is the range that number can be in, what do I do for the Column identifier?

I think to use vlookup I have to use the first column of what I am looking in? This is what I am working with:

C8 is a parts number, I need to find the price for that part which is in a data table on another page which starts on C2 , and retrieve the price that is in cell E 2
