Hi
I have tried to enter same date into 2 different computers. I noticed one computer accepted 1/1/2017 as a date but the second computer did not accept it and the date stayed in the left hand side of the cell. Why is that? Why one computer accepted 1\1\2017 and others not.

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Hello lezawang,

Time and Date separators vary by country. Here is list of valid date separators: / (slash), - (dash), . (period), and , (comma). A space may also be used.

The user's time and date along with several other system formatting options are set by the user's country setting. Application programs generally use the system settings as the default, but can change them.
