Don't show total until second number entered

Hi, I have 3 columns, Amount A, Amount B and Total.
A is a formula pulling a dollar amount from another cell
B is an amount entered manually
Total is the total of those two, Total is =MAX formula (so I don't see an amount less than 0)


Question; How do I get the "Total" column to show blank until a figure is entered into B?

Thanks for that, I should have explained initially, the formula is based on A - B = Total. The Total could be a negative amount, but I don't want the negative to show. That's why I had the following in D3; =MAX(0,B3-C3).

Is there any way to combine the IF and MAX formula?
