A3 is formula =F1
Hi how can i drag A3 across so that
B3 would be formula =F2
C3 would be formula =F3
and so on
Thanks

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
How about
=INDEX($F:$F,COLUMN())

Try

=INDIRECT("F"&COLUMN(B1))
EXCEL.PNG

Any other ideas ? i thought dragging across and just changing number would be easy

Did you try my suggestion in post#2?
It is best to avoid volatile functions like INDIRECT.
