Ok I have a dumb question, can I have different colors in my pull down menu? I have a simple YES or NO pull down menu and I am wondering if I can assign a color to that selection when choosen. For example: If I choose YES I would like the color of the box to be filled with yellow and if I choose NO I would like the color of the box to be filled with red. Is this possible or am I wishfully naive.

Do you mean in a worksheet cell?

You can't have a different colour in the menu, but you can easily change the colour of the text or the cell once the cell has been completed by using conditional formatting

For example, if you want to display "Yes" in red and bold and "No" to display in yellow and bold then

Format>Conditional Formatting

Under Condition1
Cell Value is Equal To Yes
And then choose red and bold

Under Condition2
Cell Value is Equal To No
And then choose Yellow and bold

Then click OK
