I have tried several times to use the method that all the help websites have given on how to copy and paste a bunch of non-sequential cells in a filtered list and it is not working. I have tried selecting the cells I want to copy, then clicking on the "Find and Select"--"Go To Special"--"Visible Cells Only" and then going to the first cell in the selection in the column I want to past to and it still pastes things sequentially (so that things are pasted out of order). What am I doing wrong or is this a bug? I am using Excel 2016. Thank you!

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
The destination area must be a contiguous area; this is since Excel 1.

I'm not sure I understand the pasting out of order statement

Hi, sorry, let me clarify and attach some screenshots.

I have filtered column E to show only non-blank cells. Now I want to copy some of those cells (selected in a block as seen in screenshot 2) and paste them into column B. As you can see from shot 3, only the first two names show since the others incorrectly pasted into a contiguous block and not to the correct rows. To do this, I am doing the following: Select the cells I want to copy in column E (rows 188 to 781), go to Find & Select, then Go To Special and then select Visible Cells Only. I then use Ctrl+C to copy the selection. Then I move the cursor to column B, cell 188 and use Ctrl+V to paste. As you can see in SS 3, it is not copying just the visible cells and then placing them in the correct rows. I also just tried it without selecting Visible Cells Only and it did the same thing.

Does this help clarify? Thanks!

I don't know if the screenshots worked. I am not sure how to save them as a URL that someone can then access.
