Excel 2016 Worksheet Protect Fail

I have a workbook that I have been locking cells and using a password to protect. Recently, I was not able to unprotect the worksheet. Kept receiving the message that the password was incorrect. I believed that I was using the correct password.

I created the file again, used the password to protect the sheet. I was very careful with setting the password. Now, this new file is exhibiting the same undesirable behavior. As well, any password breaking code I have used in the past does not work.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Do you have any code that protects/unprotects the sheet?

I am not asking for a way to break the protection. My request is to know if anyone else is experiencing the issue that I have described and what the fix is. I have not had trouble with the worksheet protection unitl Excel 2016.

Thanks for the information.

You haven't answered my question ;)

If you have no code in that workbook, an Add-in, or a personal.xlsb then it sounds like you miss-typed the password or the caps lock was on.
Excel does not change you password.
