I have a dropdown popup in an excel file which has dates upto 2017. Need to add more dates. couldn't find the source of date . Any thoughts ?

It may be a Data Validation list assigned to a cell
Do this:
Click on the cell
From the Ribbon choose Data
Then choose Data Validation
Then you may see Source
You may see the dates here.
Modify the dates the way you want.
