Excel - locked by user (himself) when trying to open

Hi Guys,

First of all, I'm not sure if this is the correct section but if I'm wrong, Admins please move it to the correct one.

Excel 2010 32-bit
Windows 7 64-bit

I'm a service centre guy and I currently encounter a very unusual issue. I have a user who's having a problem opening a shared document which is allowed for multiple editing. Please note the file is stored in a server's shared directory.

All his other colleagues were able to open it with no issues. When he tries to open it, he gets the error "locked by another user". When I checked under Excel > Review > Share Workbook, it shows his name (four of it to be more accurate) currently opening the file and no one else. Even after removing all the names in there. Closed Excel and tried to re-open the file, the issue is still the same.

We copied that file and pasted one level up on the directory. Opened it and it's still the same. When we turned off the 'Share Workbook', he was able to open it fine.

Does anyone have an idea on what might be causing this? I'm dried out of solutions. Really hope someone would have an answer to this. If you require more information do advise.

Thanks,
Domero
