For the life of me can't figure out how to make the kind of bar chart I want

I have a set of data -- emails sent per month for various users. So for example, in Nov-11 user "Bob" sent 3 emails. In Dec-14 "Bob" sent 25, "Susie" sent 15, "Michael" sent 5, and "Barbara" sent 10. I would like to have a chart that shows this, with the months being on the x-axis.

I would actually like to produce 2 different versions with the same information. The first will have the x-axis with months only, and each month will have one vertical bar. It will be stacked -- so for Dec-14 Bob will be at the bottom with 25, then Susie with 15, etc. All in one bar. The second will have clusters, so for Dec-14 Bob will have his own column hitting 25, Susie will have her own hitting 15, etc.

I have tried what feels like every possible combination to make these charts in Excel but nothing works! Can someone please help?

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
i will think about this for next few minutes but check out jon peltier and barbara dalgleish websites

this table produces a stacked bar chart for dec and janjan18141211
the biggest numbers are not ranked
using the large and offset-match functions
the totals have been ordered
sadly it uses the name order of the upper table
in jan, which is wrong
all I can suggest is you make 2 charts
exactly the same size, make one transparent
and put it exactly on top of the other one
your second preference will always have the
names in the same order
so you will need the chart on chart for this also

<colgroup><col width="64" span="14" style="width:48pt"> </colgroup><tbody>
