Hi I have a source data sheet S and destination sheet D in another workbook. I've run a query (excel 2016) to get the data from S to D and using append if I change a value in S it refreshes and changes in D which is fine. However, I want to delete the data completely in S on a daily basis and put new data in S (usually on a row or 2 per day) and then update the new data to D without deleting the previous. So S is a totally new database each day, D grows day by day and maintains all the previous data. Is it possible to do this or am I missing something. Currently if I delete S it also deletes D to match, if I add to S without deleting then it adds to D - I need this for a later stage but not this one thanks

Excel Facts

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
You can potentially save your S files to a folder and create a query that combines the files in the folder to have a version of D that continuously grows.

Thanks. The source worksheet could be used by a group of people in turn. They have to paste data from an external database into a sheet a lookup compares with the previous day and the 3rd sheet highlights any changes. These changes I then want to go to the destination(there’s a filter to highlight any changes). The destination sheet is a holding sheet, 8 more databases will then pull from there when each regional users decides to open up their regional clone and make a decision then on whether they want to accept the changes or new items. The source sheet is about 5mb and I have to keep it very simple to use, so if it were to save to a folder I’d need to just take the relevant values, and save it all in the background without involving the user
